ROLL-N-LOCK TONNEAU COVER
The Roll-N-Lock tonneau cover looks like a flat, vinyl cover. But bonded to the underside of the vinyl outer skin, are aluminum sections that roll up (like a tambour door) into a cannister in the front of the truck's bed. When the cover is drawn to the tailgate, it locks right into the tailgate itself, so neither the cover, nor the tailgate can be opened without the key. If you routinely carry valuable items in your truck bed, than this cover is worth a look. We've been installing this product for several years, and have had few problems of any significance. It's a good record that we're pleased with.
The cover has a very low profile at the siderails, and even the cannister (just behind the cab) has a clean flat look.
Rainwater management is handled by a drain system that routes the water into the cannister, and then out under the bed through a pair of hoses.
Here's the cannister into which the cover rolls up. The yellow circle shows the right side drain hose. The only real maintenence the Roll-N-Lock cover requires, is to periodically clean out any leaves and small debris from inside the cannister. The occasional use of silicone spray lubricant in the side tracks is also suggested.
When the cover is fully closed, the small latch shown in the left photo locks into the socket on the tailgate as shown
in the right photo. It's a simple and effective design.
