We have had the opportunity to build special vehicles for sales reps of fashion clothing. This means that they carry quite a large number of samples which they show to a prospective buyer at the buyer's location. The buyer is invited into the vehicle, where the sales presentation takes place. There, the salesperson shows to the buyer the coming season's fashion line, and orders are placed in advance. Naturally, a well lit, comfortable vehicle with an orderly system to hang and display the clothing, makes a effective sales tool. It doesn't' hurt to have a sharp, stylish exterior either.
The van is outfitted with as much rack space as possible. This whole area will be packed tightly with fashion clothing samples. The fluorescent fixtures run on regular 12-volt automotive power, provided by the auxiliary battery system we installed.
This view shows the storage compartment above the front seats. Even though there is an extra rear air conditioner & heater, the two fans help move the air around better.
These chrome grid is used to display the articles of clothing with their matching accessories. The salesperson would flip-down the grid from its stored position (left) and it becomes long enough to hang a shirt with a pair of pants, for instance, and other items as well. Remember, the idea here is to get the customer excited about the clothing line so that orders are placed for the entire line.
The rear cross view mirror is an important safety measure. The driver can see just behind the rear bumper without getting out of his seat. Another way of handling this is to install a rearview camera and monitor, which turns on when the vehicle is put into reverse.
The curtains are more of a security issue than an appearance issue. Keeping prying eyes away from the van's contents is good preventive medicine.
