The Quiltmobile would visit customers homes, and the driver would open the rear door, flip down the stairs, and invite customers inside to purchase items that quilters use. Fabrics, sewing notions, batting, and the like would be available.
When the Quiltmobile had concluded it's business with the customer, the handrail would pull out of it's mounts on the stair, and the stair would be flipped up into the rear.
One of the two fluorescent light fixtures is shown above. Pictured just under the fixture is a chrome, 12-volt fan, and some pegboard for small items to be displayed.
The larger openings of the shelves would store quilting fabrics in neat rolls, while the smaller drawers (upper left) would hold needles, trimming, and decorative materials.
Shown here is the rubber flooring, the shelving for the fabrics, and to the right, the pole that the fluffy roll of batting would be dispensed from.
There's plenty of room for the salesperson and customer to move about. The smart design of the translucent roof lets in a good amount of natural light.
