"BOOKS ON WHEELS" BOOKMOBILE
We found ourselves with an interesting task ahead: to build a rolling library, or bookmobile. A local private school was running out of room for a library in the main building, so the resourceful principal came up with the idea of using a school bus as the library, and then park it in the schoolyard, within easy reach of the students. The concept of a bookmobile is not new, but to use one in this fashion seems to be a fresh idea. The bus has all the features that a library should have including a comfortable, well lit environment, books, videos, magazines, and sitting areas. Student will use the check-out desk when borrowing books just like a regular library.

This is the way the bus looked when we got it. The exterior had fresh paint and decals but the interior was empty with almost all the seats removed. Click on the photos for more of the story.
