4-pin-flat type connector is the most common style, and is found on most light duty trailers and tow vehicles. The trailer taillights, blinkers, and stoplights, all function through this connector.
This is a 7-pin, RV type socket. This is alsoa common style found on heavier duty tow vehicles. The extra terminals are for the trailer's brakes, backup lights, and 12-volt power to the trailer.
This is what we call a 7-pin Round-Round
socket. Externally, it is simililar in apperance
to the RV type plug, but they're NOT compatible.
this style is much less common, and is found
on older equipment, construction trailers, and older horse trailers.
This is a 5-pin round type socket whichis still found on older horse trailersand older utility trailers.

Here's the newest type plug on the scene.
It is a 5-pin-flat plug which is like the
4-pin-flat plug shown above, but now
with backup lights incorporated. We
haven't seen much demand for this plug yet.
